Entertainment Care Package

The adults with disabilities at Aspire Living are always looking for ways to stay busy and keep the energy up in the homes! To help an Aspire community home (or more than one!), create an entertaining care package filled with unique ways for the residents to have some fun. Activities could include games, puzzles, books, and more! We can provide a list of suggested items to give you an idea of what the residents will enjoy!

Aspire Pen Pals

Adults with disabilities at Aspire Living are excited to connect with you! By pairing up with one (or more!) Aspire participant(s), you will have the opportunity to build a great relationship with a new friend and help your pen pal practice effective communication skills through snail mail and phone calls!

Tasty Treats for Aspire Living

Who doesn't love a treat?! Help brighten a day in an Aspire community home by having food delivered to their door. Aspire team members will be able to help pick an option that works for everyone, and the residents will enjoy and appreciate a special treat! Feel free to order one or two extra meals for our incredible team members who work in the homes to make sure all of the residents are safe and healthy. They, like a nurse or grocery store clerk, are heroes.

Virtual Visits

The residents of Aspire Living love spending time with familiar faces and new friends! Join one of our weekly group virtual visits where you will have the opportunity to spend time with residents and Aspire team members while participating in a fun activity like bingo, a sing-along or workout session! All calls are hosted on Zoom and we will provide a list of pre-set activities, dates and times to choose from. Spots are limited so sign up now!

Porch Pots for Aspire

Leave a lasting impression on one or more of our community homes by assembling a porch pot for the exterior of the home(s) using the suggested materials below. Volunteers can visit the home(s) to make the porch pots on-site (while properly social distancing with gloves and masks) or build them off-site and deliver. Your creation will help keep the exterior of the homes looking fabulous and the residents will enjoy the beautiful addition to their home!

Suggested Materials: Large planter, potting soil, large central plant, smaller plants, gloves and tools for planting. We're more than happy to provide suggestions on plants or provide further "green thumb advice" if needed.

Homemade Face Masks

We're asking volunteers to help us by making and/or donating handmade (fabric sewn) face masks that will be worn by the adults with disabilities that we serve and the caretakers who are working in the community homes. Guidelines with suggested materials, sewing instructions and helpful resources can be provided if need be. Volunteers are encouraged to ship or drop off the masks (during donation drop off time slots - see this page for details) at one of our main locations in Cook County or Lake County. We can provide addresses for both locations. Face mask donations play a critical role in helping to keep our team and residents healthy.
