Entertainment Lonnie "007" Bonds “I try to take my listeners on a musical journey with my dj sets, playing everything from the latest tracks on the radio to the underground and old-school classics that inspired them”.
Lonnie “007” Bonds has been an active dj for seventeen years, spinning everywhere from radio stations to restaurants (one sixtyblue, Vermillion, Girl and the Goat) to venues small (Puma Stores, Grandbar, Epic, Subterranean, etc.) and large (Metro, House of Blues, Double Door, Navy Pier Skyline Stage, etc.), from the chilly streets of Chicago to the tropical shores of Hawaii. Over the years he has become “the dj’s dj”…catch him spinning a guest spot and you’re sure to find some of the city’s best djs and promoters in attendance. Under the moniker “dj 007” he has also performed with national acts like Public Enemy, Gangstarr, Spearhead, Average White Band, Fareed Haque, Los Lonely Boys, Ne-Yo, Doug E. Fresh and DMC of RUN-DMC fame, as well as local acts like Malik Yusef, Juice, Rhymefest, Andreas Kapsalis, J-Davis Trio, Sumo, Qualo, and Ace Watkins. He has a long standing residency as the DJ and music coordinator of the W Hotel Chicago. Though he specializes in house and hip-hop, his wide selection and strong knowledge of music and keen sense of knowing how/when to play it has come in handy when entertaining diverse crowds like the clientele at his events, an age group ranging from 18 to 80 including celebrity guests such as David Guetta, Jamie Foxx, Chaka Khan, Babyface, Common, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Lil John, T.I., Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and David Beckham. He has also done extensive commercial work including spots for McDonald's, Coors, Wrigleys, and Anheuser Busch. In addition to djing Lonnie is a producer, manages a post-audio/recording studio, and runs an audio and music consulting company. He’s also a founding member of the band Tree Thirteen and keeps busy producing original tracks and working on remix projects.
